The traditional social club has been brought into the modern day on Glasgow's Southside. Langside Social opened in August 2026 on Pollokshaws Road following an extensive refurbishment, combining the community spirit of a members' club with a fresh approach to eating, drinking and entertainment.

Snooker and pool remain at its heart, with digital darts and private karaoke rooms added to the mix. The transformation extends outside too, where a wraparound mural by artist Marco, also known as Baxter, of All Good Murals gives the building a bold new presence on the street.

Behind the bar, the drinks list is led by Langside Social's own Langside Lager on draught, alongside familiar beers, ciders, spirits and low and no-alcohol options. The cocktail menu covers classics such as the Negroni, Paloma and Old Fashioned as well as playful serves like a Candyfloss Fizz, and there is a margarita menu with a rotating seasonal special.

The kitchen has been taken over by Antojitos, the team behind the food at The 78 and Paradise Palms. Its menu is fully plant-based and nut-free, with birria tacos, al pastor tacos, loaded nachos, tattie scone nachos and haggis taquitos, served from midday until 9pm seven days a week.

General manager Michael McBride, who is local himself, said he was excited to see this next chapter come to life. The Southside has a brilliant atmosphere and a real sense of people wanting to get together, he said, and the aim is for Langside Social to be somewhere people come together, have a great time and feel at home, whether for food and a drink, a few frames of pool, darts or karaoke.

At heart it is still a members' snooker and pool club, with annual membership available and day passes too. Free day passes are offered to Blue Light employees, NHS staff and pensioners.

Langside Social is the latest project from the team behind Edinburgh's Sneaky Pete's and Glasgow pub The Laurieston, and it adds another lively meeting place to the busy stretch of Pollokshaws Road around Shawlands and Langside.

Langside Social is at 1060-1078 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow, G41 3EB. Bookings and membership details are at langsidesocial.com.
