Moxie opens a permanent vintage store at Rag and Bone in Finnieston's Hidden Lane

After years of pop-ups, a much-loved vintage fashion business has a permanent home. Moxie opened in September 2026 in The Yard Rooms, a new retail space inside Rag and Bone in Finnieston's Hidden Lane.

Moxie was founded in 2007 by broadcaster, publicist and lifelong fashion devotee Heather Suttie. It stocks womenswear, menswear, jewellery and accessories, with every piece hand-selected by Heather and her colleague Gillian Welsh for design, quality and wearability.

The rails mix preloved designer clothing from names such as Vivienne Westwood, Celine, Aquascutum, Biba, Jaeger, Levi's and Ralph Lauren with original vintage from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Shoppers can expect beautifully cut coats, classic tailoring, denim, sportswear and sequins, all designed to be worn rather than saved for a special occasion.

Heather said that after selling vintage through pop-ups for many years, finding a permanent home in Rag and Bone felt like the right next step, adding that every piece earns its place on the rail. Buying vintage and preloved, she said, lets people build a wardrobe with far more personality, with better fabrics and stronger construction.

The opening coincided with Oxfam's Second Hand September campaign, which encourages people to buy pre-owned clothing instead of new for a month and challenges the culture of disposable fashion.

Rag and Bone, already known for its antique furniture, vintage interiors, art and collectables across two floors, describes Moxie as its dedicated vintage clothing dealer. Founder Peter Green said that as soon as he saw Moxie's archive, he wanted Heather and Gillian to bring that colour and personality into the space.

Moxie introduces fresh drops every week, with themed edits, private shopping events and late-night openings planned. In October, it offered students 20% off clothing and accessories for one evening, with Heather saying student budgets are stretched but that should not mean giving up on clothes you love.

Rag and Bone opens Thursday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm, with late opening until 8pm on Thursdays.
