Roslea Properties opens its Shawlands office to local makers for weekend pop-ups

An estate agency in Shawlands has found a creative way to support its neighbours. Roslea Properties, an independent letting and estate agency, is opening its Kilmarnock Road office to local creatives through a series of weekend pop-ups, giving each participant full use of the space for a weekend.

The series began on 26 and 27 September 2026 with Scottish ceramic artist Laura Lightbody. A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, Laura creates bold, one-of-a-kind ceramic wall pieces inspired by colour, geometry and architectural forms. She said collaborating with Roslea was an opportunity she simply could not miss.

She was followed on 3 and 4 October by Fayre by Frankie, a small-batch bakery run by Sara from her tenement kitchen in the Southside, with a menu centred on handmade, nostalgic bakes.

The third pop-up, on 10 and 11 October, featured Glasgow illustrator Natalie Tweedie, who works as Nebo Peklo and is known for her depictions of the city's architecture. Her prints, maps, calendars and textiles celebrate Glasgow landmarks and neighbourhoods, and her Brutal Glasgow collection features post-war buildings including Anniesland Court and the Savoy Centre.

The idea builds on Roslea's Design Directory, which promotes independent Glasgow businesses specialising in interiors, furniture, kitchens and home improvement. The pop-up series takes that support beyond the property sector to artists, makers and food businesses.

Director Craig Muirhead said Glasgow has an incredible community of artists, makers and independent businesses, but finding an affordable physical space to sell and be seen can be difficult. The team spends its working life in and around Shawlands and wants the office to contribute to the neighbourhood beyond its day-to-day use. Opening the space, he said, felt like a natural next step, giving people another reason to visit and support independent businesses.

Further dates and participating businesses will be announced through Roslea's website and Instagram, and other independents interested in using the space are encouraged to get in touch.
