Spa at Blythswood Square introduces a lymphatic drainage body treatment

Glasgow's city centre spa lovers have a new treatment to try. Spa at Blythswood Square, at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel, has introduced the OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment, a lymphatic drainage therapy developed in partnership with the award-winning luxury skincare brand OSKIA.

Lymphatic drainage is a specialised form of manual therapy that encourages the natural drainage of lymph, the fluid that carries waste products away from tissues. The treatment is designed to improve circulation, reduce fluid retention and ease tension, leaving guests feeling refreshed.

Targeting the legs and stomach, it begins with full-body dry brushing to stimulate circulation and gently exfoliate the skin. OSKIA's Muscle Recovery Oil, infused with eucalyptus, peppermint, cypress and black pepper, is then applied, and manual techniques are combined with specially crafted wooden tools to sculpt and contour.

Laura Brown, head of spa for OSKIA, said that unlike traditional massage treatments that focus on relaxing muscles, this treatment is designed specifically to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the body's natural detoxification, with precise, targeted techniques.

The spa team said lymphatic drainage treatments continue to grow in popularity, and the new therapy is ideal before a holiday or as a regular part of a wellness routine. It complements the spa's Detox journey, one of four curated journeys, alongside Relax, Recover and Invigorate, that use contrasting thermal therapies.

The spa itself is inspired by the Scottish Hebrides and uses locally sourced products. Its facilities include what it describes as Scotland's first spa snow shower and Himalayan salt room, along with a relaxation pool, crystal steam room and hydrotherapy pool.

The OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment is priced from 115 pounds for 55 minutes. Hotel guests can also use the spa during dedicated hours each morning and evening.

Guests can follow one of the journeys or simply explore the spa at their own pace, alone or with someone they love.
