Tenement Trail fills Glasgow's East End with more than 50 gigs in a single day

On Saturday 10 October 2026, thousands of music fans hit the streets of Glasgow's East End for Tenement Trail, the festival that bills itself as Scotland's biggest celebration of music discovery. More than 50 acts played across 12 hours of live music.

Venues included the Barrowland Ballroom, St Luke's, Barras Art and Design, Van Winkle and McChuills, all within walking distance of one another. The day was co-headlined by Brogeal and Baby Strange.

Falkirk band Brogeal closed the day at BAaD, playing favourites from their SAY Award longlisted album Tuesday Paper Club, with queues stretching round the back of the building. Over at the Barrowland, Glasgow's Baby Strange reformed for one night to mark ten years since their 2016 album Want It Need It, headlining the famous ballroom for the first time and welcoming Lucia Fairfull on stage.

Elsewhere, new Glasgow indie-pop act People Pleaser played their debut show, Bad Gravy drew one of their biggest crowds to date at a packed St Luke's, and singer-songwriter Dan Parks impressed. Heavyskint, Tom A Smith, Oedipus and the Mama's Boys and Limonead, who performs Scottish Gaelic hip-hop, were among the other highlights, before a late Club Sabbath club night brought things to a close.

Tenement Trail was created in 2013 by music fans behind the platform Tenement TV, and over the years it has given audiences the chance to see artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender and Yungblud in tiny venues before they became household names. The 2025 edition, its eleventh, was headlined by Pale Waves.

Founder Chae Houston has described the festival's growth as a testament to Glasgow's music scene, saying the fans here are on another level.

The organisers are already looking ahead. Tenement Trail 2027 will take place on Saturday 9 October 2027, and early bird tickets went on sale straight after this year's event at the lowest price they will be.

For a city that prides itself on spotting the next big thing, it is a day that keeps getting bigger without losing its grassroots spirit.
