Unalome by Graeme Cheevers keeps its Michelin star in Finnieston

There was good news for Finnieston at the 2026 Michelin Guide ceremony in February, as Unalome by Graeme Cheevers retained its Michelin star. The Kelvingrove Street restaurant is one of two starred restaurants in Glasgow, alongside Cail Bruich in the West End.

The ceremony, held in Dublin on Monday 9 February, was a strong night for Scotland overall. The country's cohort of one-star restaurants grew from eleven to thirteen, with no Scottish restaurants losing a star, bringing the total number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Scotland to fifteen.

Unalome opened on 2 June 2021 in the former home of The Sisters restaurant at 36 Kelvingrove Street, on the quieter, residential side of Finnieston. Before it opened, the building was given a complete transformation, with warm, simple walls and decorative stone panels creating a modern but elegant dining room.

Chef patron Graeme Cheevers arrived with serious pedigree. He had already been part of Michelin-starred kitchens at Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond and the Isle of Eriska Hotel, and when Unalome launched he spoke about taking on a young team he could shape into the kitchen he wanted. At the time, the ambition was clear: more Michelin stars for Glasgow.

That ambition has been realised. The restaurant now describes itself simply as contemporary fine dining, and from the start its tasting menu was built around hyper-seasonal produce. The opening menu featured dishes such as Orkney scallops and grilled North Sea turbot, with a dedicated vegetarian menu running alongside.

The 2026 result confirms Unalome as one of the anchors of Glasgow's fine dining scene. Together with Cail Bruich, it gives the city two starred restaurants, one in Finnieston and one in the West End, at a time when Scotland's tally of starred kitchens is growing.
