West End

Glasgow's West End grew up around the University of Glasgow, which moved to Gilmorehill in the Victorian era, and the River Kelvin that winds through it. Kelvingrove Park and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum lie at one end, the Botanic Gardens at the other, and Byres Road with its cafés, shops and murals runs in between. The district also covers Hillhead, Hyndland, Kelvinside, Woodlands and Maryhill. The West End's residents, students and independents supply the good news on this page.
